When I was fifteen i the mid sixties it was popular among the boys to make enamel iron crosses at my school. Why I don´t know. In 1969 I found a cheap and bad copy of the IC 2cl m/1914 in a small London shop. I thought it was a genuine one. A couple of years later I showed to my family. My mother looked into an old box and picked out a geniuine IC 1cl wich she had brought from Estonia when she fled in 1944. That was the first cross in my collection.

My collection consists mainly of first class iron crosses m/1939. During WWII there where som 350 000 recievers of the IC 1cl and 100 000 of the Wiederholungsspange tho the WWi cross. How many that actually was manufactured I don´t know.

I focus on the IC 1 because they used to be rather cheap in the US and GB because the swedish crown was strong. An other reason as that the IC 1 is relativelly "political clean". It´s a combat award even though I´m aware that more than one or to nazis got it for their dirty criminal work.

Many of my crosses are indivds. Booth if you loke upon them with your tecnical eye and if you look howe worn down they are. I think that the differencies make them more exiting. Of course there is a possibility that you will find a fake among them. If so. tell me so in a mail I can learn more. I am not an expert.

Most of the writing is still in swedish but I´m translating a page now and then. Just look for the Australian flag or english writing
